Safe-T-Proof Licensing

Safe-T-Proof Expands Services With Authorization
of First Licensing Agreement in California

San Diego, CA — Coinciding with April as Earthquake Preparedness Month, Safe-T-Proof Disaster Preparedness Company, Inc. announced that it is expanding into additional markets by granting the first licensing agreement to Ken Eklund, Safe-T-Proof of Riverside County, Inc., California, beginning March 1, 2008.

Ken Eklund seals the deal with Michael Essrig at Riverside, California.

Licensing. The licensing arrangement allows qualified businesses to license the Safe-T-Proof name and to provide seismic fastening for residential and commercial clients. The installation team will use patented Safe-T-Proof fasteners in the installation process. The Licensees will also have the opportunity to offer the original Quake Cottage™ earthquake simulator for demonstrations and exhibits.

Safe-T-Proof, a company headquartered in San Diego, California, with offices in Utah and Japan, will be opening additional territories for licensing agreements in supplemental counties in California, Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Utah, New Mexico, Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas and Missouri.

It will manage manufacturing and sales for all Safe-T-Proof Products and Quake Cottages and manufacturing will continue to be conducted out of Safe-T-Proof's Sylmar, California facility. The products include patented earthquake fasteners, survival kits, emergency supplies, emergency food and water.

Quake Cottage. The original Quake Cottage developed in 1994 is a mobile earthquake simulator on a double-axle tandem trailer. A cam engine which thrusts the two thousand pound structure with calculated strength simulating up to an 8.0 earthquake drives its self-powered, three-dimensional movement.

According to President and CEO Michael Essrig, "Often personal priceless possessions and valuable equipment broken during a quake can cost more than the structural damage to a building, much less the loss of worker hours and revenue for every day lost to earthquake damage. Safe-T-Proof teaches individuals and businesses how to safeguard items in their homes and offices, and to prepare for a safer future. Quake Cottage™ realistically helps educate the public experientially."

Since its inception in 1994, there have been five Quake Cottages™ built and used by states, municipalities and governmental agencies. The State of Alaska’s Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management has a unit and another unit is utilized in a similar fashion in Utah. These portable units, similar to the Quake Cottage™ the Navy purchased can simulate up to an 8.0 magnitude seismic event, and will hold two to three people at one time. Hundreds of Quake Cottage™ demonstrations around the U.S. have proven that it helps generate public interest in disaster preparedness in the community, at home and at work. Quake Cottages are available only to governmental agencies and Safe-T-Proof licensees. Quake Cottage has been featured on nationally-televised network news such as the “Home and Family Show,” “Martin Short Show,” “Crook & Chase Show,” “The Today Show,” and most recently, NBC’s Dateline and KTLA News’ Earthquake Special.

UPS Award. Safe-T-Proof is the recipient of the 2007 United Parcel Service (NYSE:UPS) International “Out of the Box” Award, selected by a panel of judges for the top 3 pick as Innovative Small Businesses from over 1,000 entries submitted by businesses around the world.

Safe-T-Proof is the leader in commercial, institutional and governmental disaster preparedness and offer hazard mitigation, seismic anchorage and retrofitting systems, architectural and engineering planning, safety training services and emergency/terrorism awareness training, construction and tenant improvement services, along with preparedness products.

It has been retained by hundreds of companies including ARCO, AT&T, Boeing North America/Rocketdyne Division, USC, Cal Tech University, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, City of Hope National Medical Center, Hewlett-Packard, Johnson & Johnson, MGM Studios, 20th Century Fox Studios, Veterans Administration Hospital, Walt Disney Studios, MCI WorldCom, NTT and Toshiba in Japan.

U.S. Navy. The Navy’s largest carrier ship, the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan, chose Safe-T-Proof’s fasteners to secure all technical equipment and computer systems onboard as the ship prepared to depart for Afghanistan in 2003. And the U.S. Navy recently commissioned Safe-T-Proof to build a custom, state-of-the-art Quake Cottage™ earthquake simulator for the Navy's earthquake preparedness training exercises in Japan.
